We are Natalie and Rob, experienced educators with a passion for creativity.

We created Sketchbook in 2025 with the aim of providing the highest quality art clubs for children in primary schools.

We've developed our teaching expertise over many years of working with children and young people.

Natalie Mabelis ​

I'm a primary teacher with 20 years'experience of teaching in schools in Surrey and London.
​
I studied Textile Design at Central St Martins and worked in the creative industries before becoming a primary school teacher.
​
I'm currently a practicing class teacher leading provision for children with special educational needs within a mainstream setting. ​
​
I love giving each child the confidence to explore their individuality and to inspire them to find their artistic voice.

Rob Watts
I'm a lecturer in art and design education with many years' experience of supporting teachers in primary and secondary schools.
​
I studied Painting at Kingston School of Art before qualifying as a teacher and taught in inner-city schools for ten years before moving into teacher education.
​​​​
I've taught art and design to children and adults of all ages. I love exploring strategies for motivating curiosity and creativity in the classroom.
