Natalie Mabelis ​

I'm a primary teacher with 20 years' experience of teaching in schools in Surrey and Southwest London.
​
I studied Textile Design at Central St Martins and worked in the creative industries before becoming a primary school teacher.
​
I am currently a practicing class teacher leading provision for children with special educational needs within a mainstream setting. ​
​
I love giving each child the confidence to explore their individuality and to inspire them to find their artistic voice.

Rob Watts
I'm a lecturer in art and design education with many years' experience of supporting teachers in primary and secondary schools.
​
I studied Painting at Kingston School of Art before qualifying as a teacher, and taught in inner-city schools for ten years before moving into teacher education.
​​​​
I love exploring strategies for motivating children to develop their curiosity and creativity in the classroom.

We are Natalie and Rob and we are experienced educators with a passion for art and design.

We created Sketchbook in 2025 with the aim of creating the highest quality art clubs for children in primary schools.
